Brewer Clifton Mount Carmel Chard 2010

Notes from the Winemaker: 2010 marks our eleventh consecutive bottling (sixth under our own vineyard management) of this illustrious and coveted site in the appellation. Originally planted in 1991 by Ron Piazza (current owner), this was the first of our quintet of vineyards overseen by Francisco Ramirez and soil and energy consultant, Stan Kadota. Of the twenty acre parcel, six are devoted to chardonnay on a steep, wind-beaten slope of botella clay and limestone. Apricot, white nectarine and hazelnut aromatics followed by flavors of white peach, rinsed minerals and driedapricot. Remarkably elegant possessing singular weight, volume and refinement and a seemingly endless finish.
