Tasting Notes Scar of the Sea is a thrilling new wine label from the Central Coast, with a focus on crafting balanced wines and dry cider's from coastal influenced vineyards and orchards. Scar of the Sea is an absolute passion play from the creative forces of two young upstarts, Mikey Gigugni and Michael Brughelli. These two are crafting wines that are a product of location, climate, and terrior. Bien Nacido Block-11 is located high on a hillside in the Southwest corner of the Bien Nacido Vineyard. Gravelly earth and a steep gradient lead to a concentrated wine. Showcasing rich texture, lemon and lime, hints of caramel, with tropical and citrus fruits that lead to racy acidity that lingers on the finish. Barrel fermented and aged on the lees, the wine has the best elements of both New and Old world Chardonnay
