The vineyards for the Maximus sweep from the winery inCalistoga all the way down to the Claussen Ranch in Oak Knoll. Most of the vineyards that we source from are planted on the edges of the Napa Valley, with soils extending from the alluvial fans of centuries past. These vineyards that are on the valley floor are on loam soils. These sites produce vines of excellent health, which when managed properly and cropped appropriately produce amazing wine.
Purple red ruby in color. Dense ripe fruit, with cherry cola and mocha in the nose. Ripe, round, soft and elegant red fruit on the palate with an incredibly long finish. Wonderful soft tannins.
